The cover uses deep green book cloth as its base, echoing the authors’ depictions of nature and their deep connection to their homelands—lands that nurtured their growth, evoking the image of Mother Earth. As a child, it was often the mother who mended clothes, so the central line is expressed through embroidery, a quiet tribute to care and memory.
Professor Corbella mentions that lines can capture the diversity of landscapes—fields, crops, mountains, and rivers. Lines also symbolize connection, linking Wang Chieh’s Qidu with Corbella’s La Vall de Corb .
Swiss artist Paul Klee, who explored the expressive power of lines in his Bauhaus teachings, believed that a moving point becomes a line, and a line is the trace of movement—each with its own gait.
